Aarya

Aarya is a spelling of Arya associated with the Sanskrit meaning “noble.” Its doubled initial vowel is part of the written form, not an extra syllable that must be pronounced separately. The name has a South Asian history independent of the fictional character Arya in Game of Thrones, even though that character may be a familiar reference for English speakers.

Aarya Ambekar provides a real-world musical and acting namesake. Aria is another close sound comparison, but its musical-word history is separate from this Sanskrit name. Parents choosing Aarya for a family or language connection can explain that distinction while deciding whether Aarya or Arya better matches the spelling used in their own community.
