Addyson

Addyson is a spelling variation of Addison, an English surname meaning “son of Adam.” The older surname used a familiar form of Adam rather than the full name in its first element. Its literal meaning belongs to that surname history, even when the name is chosen for a girl today.

The y makes Addy especially visible as an everyday short form. Addison retains the familiar surname spelling, while Addyson gives the written name a different shape without changing the underlying relationship. For an honor name, either can connect with an Adam or Addison in the family. The intended spelling will matter more than expecting the two versions to have unrelated meanings.
