Adella

Adella is a spelling in the Adela family, whose old Germanic element adal means noble. Doubling the l creates a distinct written form while keeping the same central name and meaning. The relationship with Adele and other Adel names gives it a substantial history beyond a recent preference for a particular ending.

The exact spelling also appears in Disney's The Little Mermaid as the name of one of Ariel's sisters. That is a modern storytelling association layered over the older name family. Adella can therefore feel familiar to different generations for different reasons: through traditional family names, the Germanic root, or the animated character, without depending on any one of those connections.
