Aharon

Aharon is the Hebrew form of the biblical name usually written Aaron in English. Its oldest meaning is uncertain, despite familiar explanations involving mountains or exaltation. The name’s most secure history comes from the biblical figure himself: the brother of Moses and Miriam and a central figure in the priestly tradition of Israel.

In Jewish use, Aharon keeps the Hebrew shape of the name especially visible in Latin letters. The middle h represents part of that form rather than an extra syllable invented for decoration. Aharon also connects with the tradition describing Aaron as someone associated with peace, an ethical remembrance rather than a literal translation. Parents may choose it for family continuity or scriptural significance while leaving the unresolved ancient etymology open.
