Alisson

Alisson is a spelling within the Alison and Allison family. The traditional feminine line comes from a medieval French diminutive of Alice, ultimately connected with a Germanic element meaning “noble.” Alisson also appears as a masculine name in Brazilian usage, illustrating how the same written form can have different associations across language communities.

The single l and doubled s distinguish Alisson from Allison, so spelling may need to be clarified when the name is spoken. Ali and Allie offer short forms that work across several variants. Parents deciding between the spellings can consider family tradition and how the full name looks together, rather than expecting a different meaning from the changed consonants.
