Alora

Alora is a modern name whose origin does not have one settled explanation. It is often connected with Elora, a name familiar from the film Willow, and may also be chosen as a combination of sounds from other names. That makes it misleading to assign a definite Hebrew, Greek, or Persian translation to every Alora.

Names such as Eliora, Elara, and Alara have their own histories; a resemblance to them does not automatically transfer their meanings. The Italian word allora is another lookalike, but has a different spelling and is not an established explanation for the given name. Parents may choose Alora for its three-syllable uh-LOR-uh sound or a personal family connection, while keeping its uncertain origin clear.
