Ambar

Ambar is the Spanish form of Amber, also written Ámbar with the accent used in the Spanish word. It refers to fossilized tree resin, valued for its warm coloring and use in jewelry. That gives the name a material and nature connection rather than a direct association with a living flower or tree species.

The spelling can preserve a Spanish-language form while keeping a meaning recognizable to English speakers. The accent in Ámbar marks the stress, so its presence matters when following standard Spanish spelling. Ambar without the accent is also used in personal records. For a family comparing both forms, language and documentation preferences can guide the choice without changing the amber association.
