Anabella

Anabella is an elaborated spelling in the Annabel family, commonly traced to the medieval name Amabel. Amabel comes from Latin vocabulary for being lovable, giving the name a history that is more than a combination of Anna and Bella. The final a makes Anabella a fuller form while preserving that familiar family connection.

A family may also choose it with an Anna in mind, or enjoy the recognizable bella sound, but those personal associations need not replace the older derivation. Annabel, Anabel, and Anabela show how the family has developed several written forms. Anabella uses one n and two l's, a useful distinction when comparing it with the similarly elaborate Annabella.
