Andi

Andi is a familiar form used with names in the Andrew and Andrea family. Their Greek root is associated with manliness, although that historical meaning does not restrict who can use Andi today. The short form also stands as an independent given name, rather than always indicating a longer name on official documents.

Andie and Andy are close spelling comparisons. Andi Mack gives this spelling a recognizable television association, while other fictional bearers use different endings. The four-letter form has two syllables and is already concise enough for everyday use. A family honor can be preserved through Andi even when the longer original name is not repeated exactly.
