Ariah

Ariah is often used as a spelling of Aria, the Italian musical word for an air or solo song. It has also been associated with Hebrew names such as Ariel, but that is a different naming route. The meaning lion of God belongs specifically to Ariel and should not be assigned automatically to every Ariah.

The final h changes the appearance without fixing a single pronunciation. Some families read Ariah like Aria, while others give it a sound closer to Mariah. Clarifying that preference is especially helpful when introducing the name. A musical connection, a family honor, or a different intended root can each shape its personal story.
