Arizona

Arizona is a place name used as a given name, most directly recalling the American state and its landscapes. The origin of the place name is disputed. One longstanding explanation connects it with an O'odham expression for a little spring, while other proposals exist, so that translation is best treated as a possibility rather than a settled fact.

The name evokes a region that includes desert, mountains, and the Grand Canyon, giving it a broader natural setting than the image of desert alone. A family might choose Arizona to remember a home, a journey, or an important relationship with the place. Its geographical identity is clear even though the oldest linguistic steps behind the state name remain debated.
