Aviana

Aviana is a modern name that can be understood as an elaboration of Ava influenced by endings such as Ariana’s. It may also appeal through its resemblance to avian, the English adjective relating to birds. That connection gives it possible bird imagery, but Aviana is not simply the Latin word for a bird or a securely established ancient form.

Avi and Ava provide short options, while Avianna changes the spelling without necessarily changing the sound. The first vowel is pronounced in more than one way, so families may want to establish their preference early. Ariana shares some of its rhythm but has a separate history and should be compared as a different name.
