Azula

Azula is best known as a character name from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It draws on azul, the word for blue in Spanish and related languages, an association reflected in the character’s blue fire. The name is a modern fictional creation built around that color word rather than an inherited traditional Spanish first name.

The character is a major antagonist, so the story connection is a substantial part of how the name may be recognized. Families may nevertheless be drawn to its sound, its vivid color image, or their attachment to the series. Azula’s final a gives it a complete name-like shape while the blue association remains the clearest explanation of its construction.
