Baltazar

Baltazar belongs to the Balthazar name family, which traces back to an Akkadian name asking the god Bel to protect the king. Its ancient structure is a short petition rather than a description of the person carrying it. The name has since passed into several European languages, producing forms such as Baltasar and Balthasar alongside Baltazar.

It is also familiar through the Christian tradition that names one of the Magi Balthazar. The Gospel account itself does not supply those traditional personal names, so this connection belongs to later religious storytelling and art. That layered history gives Baltazar both an ancient Near Eastern origin and a recognizable place in European cultural tradition. Families can appreciate those associations without treating them as the same historical source.
