Batsheva

Batsheva is the Hebrew form of the name often written Bathsheba in English Bibles. Its elements are commonly interpreted as daughter of an oath, with daughter of seven also appearing in explanations of the name. In the biblical narrative, she becomes the wife of King David and the mother of Solomon, giving the name a prominent royal setting.

The spelling Batsheva preserves the modern Hebrew sounds more closely than the older English form. That can make it especially meaningful for a family choosing a Hebrew name while still wanting an immediately identifiable biblical connection. Batsheva and Bathsheba refer to the same name tradition, so the difference is chiefly one of language and representation rather than a separate historical bearer.
