Bexley

Bexley comes from an English place name associated with a clearing where box trees grow. It is also familiar as a modern geographical name in more than one location. The older tree-and-clearing elements provide a specific landscape meaning, while the x gives the contemporary personal name a visual quality that can seem newer than its place-name history.

Bex is a concise nickname, and Bexlee or Bexleigh offer spelling alternatives with the same usual English rhythm. Becky shares an opening sound but normally comes from Rebecca, a different name family. Parents considering Bexley can separate its botanical meaning from any particular city or family connection that makes the name personally appealing.
