Bowen

Bowen can come from a Welsh surname meaning “son of Owen.” In that tradition it describes a family relationship, rather than directly carrying every proposed meaning of Owen. Bowen can also represent a Chinese given name, where the meaning depends on the characters used.

Actor Bowen Yang is a recognizable bearer of the written form. His name should not be taken as proof that every Bowen has the Welsh surname origin. Bo is a straightforward nickname for English-speaking families. If heritage is central to the choice, identifying the intended Welsh or Chinese connection gives a clearer explanation than combining unrelated translations.
