Briana

Briana is a feminine form of Brian, an Irish name whose original meaning is not securely established. Strength, nobility, and honor are familiar interpretations of the name family, but they should not be treated as three literal translations. The single n spelling has its own literary history: Edmund Spenser used Briana in The Faerie Queene.

Brianna is the closely related double n form, while Brienne belongs to the same wider naming family. Briana's appearance in Renaissance literature means that it is more than a recent adjustment of a familiar boys' name. Families comparing Briana and Brianna can consider the visual difference while remembering that pronunciation may vary between speakers and communities.
