Brisa

Brisa is a Spanish and Portuguese word meaning “breeze,” used directly as a personal name. Its nature connection comes from a familiar word for moving air, rather than from a translated ancient personal name. The meaning suggests a lighter wind, distinguishing it from names based on storms or more forceful weather.

The name’s final a is part of the original word, not an added ending designed to make another name feminine. Although it may resemble names such as Briana in English, those have different histories. Brisa can be chosen for its landscape or seaside associations, but it does not point to one particular place. The ordinary word provides a complete explanation of its meaning.
