Cesar

Cesar is an unaccented form of César, related to the Roman family name Caesar. The oldest meaning of Caesar is uncertain. A connection with hair is one traditional explanation, but it should not be treated as a proven description of every bearer.

Julius Caesar provides the best-known historical association, while the name later became connected with imperial titles. In Spanish, the accent in César marks stress on the first syllable. Families comparing Cesar with Caesar may prefer a language-specific spelling rather than the classical form. The name works in full without requiring a longer formal expansion.
