Dafne

Dafne is the Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese form of Daphne, the Greek name for the laurel or bay tree. It combines a direct botanical meaning with a classical story: in Greek mythology, Daphne is transformed into a laurel while escaping Apollo. The tree, rather than an invented symbolic phrase, is the name’s literal connection to nature.

Using f instead of ph makes the spelling natural in several Romance languages while preserving the recognizable Daphne family. Pronunciation varies across those languages, particularly in the final vowel. Dafne is short enough to use without a nickname and may suit families looking for a flower-name alternative with a less delicate sound and an established international history.
