Dariana

Dariana is a longer feminine name often connected with Darian or Daria. When understood through Daria and Darius, it reaches an Old Persian name usually interpreted as “possessing goodness” or “holding good.” That is a more specific explanation than the broad translations “rich” or “kingly,” and the connection should remain qualified for a modern extended form.

Dariana's sequence of vowels gives it a flowing sound beside Ariana or Adriana, though those names are not simply alternate spellings. Dari and Ana offer different ways to shorten it, emphasizing the beginning or ending. Families who want the older Darius connection to be more immediately apparent might compare Daria. Dariana adds length and a softer finish while leaving room for a personal family story.
