Davina

Davina is a feminine form of David with an established history in Scotland. Through the Hebrew name David it carries the traditional meaning “beloved.” Its resemblance to the English word divine is an additional sound association, while “little deer” does not explain the documented David relationship.

Davida and Davinia are related forms with different endings, and David offers the direct family connection. Davina’s three-syllable rhythm gives it a distinct identity rather than making it merely a short nickname. It can honor a David while retaining a feminine form with its own history, particularly in a family with Scottish naming traditions.
