Eliette

Eliette, often written Éliette in French, is associated with Élie, the French form of Elijah. Through that connection, its traditional meaning is “my God is Yahweh.” The feminine ending gives it a French form while preserving a much older Hebrew name family. A separate claim that Eliette means “sun” is not securely established for this derivation.

The spelling Elyette is a close relative, while the accent in Éliette reflects French writing conventions. The name’s relationship to Élie should also be distinguished from Elizabeth: both have a divine element in their Hebrew backgrounds, but their complete meanings are different. Eliette’s clearest explanation lies in the Elijah family, rather than in treating all El- names as interchangeable.
