Elyana

Elyana is a modern spelling commonly associated with Eliana. Through the Hebrew interpretation of Eliana, it can carry the meaning “my God has answered.” Similar-looking names also exist through other linguistic routes, so that meaning is most appropriate when the family intends the Hebrew connection. The y does not establish a separate ancient name or a new translation.

Its flowing vowels and familiar El opening make Elyana easy to compare with Eliana, Elliana, and Elena, though the last name has a different history. Ellie is an accessible short form. Parents may want to introduce the preferred syllables, since the y can lead readers toward different sounds. Elyana can preserve an Eliana family connection while giving the written name a distinctive appearance.
