Elysia

Elysia is associated with Elysium, the blessed afterlife of classical mythology. That connection distinguishes it from names such as Elisa or Alicia, which may sound similar but have different histories. The meaning points to a mythological place rather than translating simply as “happy” or “beautiful.”

The written name leaves room for more than one pronunciation in English, so a family may need to introduce the sound they intend. Choosing Elysia for its classical association preserves a specific story, while using it only as an alternative spelling of another name creates a different personal connection. Those possibilities should be explained separately rather than making all similar-sounding names share the same origin.
