Geovanni

Geovanni is a spelling variation of Giovanni, the Italian form of John. Its roots ultimately lead to a Hebrew name expressing the idea that God is gracious. The added e changes the familiar written opening of Giovanni while keeping the name within the same broad family as John, Jean, Juan, and other forms that developed in different languages.

That connection makes Geovanni a possible way to honor a John or Giovanni in the family without repeating the exact spelling. Gio provides a short everyday form associated with this Italian name family. The name’s history comes through Giovanni and John, while the Geovanni spelling gives it a recognizable individual appearance in records and introductions.
