Heavenly

Heavenly comes directly from the English adjective meaning “of heaven.” In everyday speech, it can also describe something wonderfully beautiful or delightful. As a given name, it may express religious hope, affection, or the sense that a child is a blessing. Those associations come from the existing word rather than from a separate ancient personal name.

Its three syllables give Heavenly a more flowing sound than Heaven, which can also work as a shorter form. Families may prefer the ordinary word spelling because its meaning is immediately recognizable. The name makes a strong statement, so it is useful to consider whether the family enjoys that expressive quality in everyday introductions. It belongs on a shortlist with other meaningful word names rather than traditional biblical character names.
