Issac

Issac is a spelling variation of Isaac, the English form of a Hebrew name meaning “he will laugh.” The biblical connection is with the son of Abraham and Sarah. Moving the doubled letter from a to s changes the name’s appearance, but it does not create a separate Hebrew meaning or a different biblical figure.

Families choosing Issac may want to establish their intended pronunciation and expect some listeners to write Isaac. Ike is a familiar short form available with either spelling. Parents honoring a relative named Issac can preserve that exact family form, while those primarily seeking the conventional English biblical spelling may prefer Isaac as the closer match.
