Ivanna

Ivanna is a feminine form related to Ivan, the Slavic member of the John name family. Through that family, its traditional meaning is “God is gracious.” The doubled n distinguishes it from Ivana while preserving the same broad historical relationship, rather than creating a separate definition.

Iva is a possible short form, although it also has independent histories in other languages. Parents honoring an Ivan or John can use Ivanna to keep the root while choosing a different full name. Pronunciation varies across language communities, including the opening vowel. The family’s preferred spoken form can guide the spelling choice more usefully than a single universal English pronunciation.
