Jaxxon

Jaxxon is a modern spelling of Jackson, an English surname meaning “son of Jack.” The family relationship in the surname supplies the meaning; the doubled “x” does not introduce a new element. Jack itself has a longer history as a personal name, but that history should be kept separate from the direct surname definition.

Jax gives Jaxxon a compact everyday shortening. Jackson, Jaxon, and Jaxson are nearby forms to compare, particularly when preserving a relative’s name or reading popularity figures. The spellings may sound alike while being counted separately. Families choosing Jaxxon will mainly be choosing its written appearance rather than a different origin from the Jackson family.
