Jayde

Jayde is a spelling of Jade, the gemstone name. Its immediate meaning is the stone itself. The older English word jade came through Spanish expressions referring to a stone associated historically with the side of the body, which explains the unusual “stone of the side” gloss sometimes seen in name lists.

That word history does not mean Jayde is a medical name or that the stone has a proven healing effect. As a given name, the spelling adds a y while keeping the recognizable gemstone sound. Jade is the clearest comparison, and the written difference is more significant than any change in meaning. Jayde can be used independently without being short for another name.
