Jesiah

Jesiah appears in the King James Bible in 1 Chronicles 12:6 as the name of a Korahite among David’s supporters. Other English translations use Isshiah for the same person. This biblical name is traditionally interpreted as “Yahweh will lend,” so its history should be distinguished from modern comparisons with the similar-looking Josiah or Jesse.

For families drawn to a less familiar biblical name, Jesiah offers a documented connection rather than simply a biblical-sounding ending. Jess or Siah can work as informal shortenings. Comparing Jesiah with Isshiah may be useful if a particular Bible translation matters to your family, while Josiah remains a separate name with its own story.
