Jianna

Jianna is a spelling variation of Gianna, the Italian short form of Giovanna. That name belongs to the John family and ultimately carries the Hebrew meaning “God is gracious.” Replacing the opening G with J changes the written form while preserving the connection with the older Italian name.

For English readers, the J makes the intended opening consonant particularly visible. Jia can work as a family nickname, while Jianna remains a manageable full name. Gianna is the closest comparison and Giovanna provides a longer related option. Families honoring a John, Joan, or Giovanna may find this shared history more useful than choosing only by similar sound.
