Josette

Josette is a French feminine form in the Joseph name family. The older Hebrew root is traditionally interpreted as a wish that God may add or increase. The French ette ending gives Josette the character of an affectionate form, while its use as a complete first name allows it to stand independently.

It is closely related to the better-known Josephine but has a more compact, crisp ending. That makes it a possible way to preserve a Joseph or Josephine family connection without repeating the exact name. Josette also belongs to a recognizable French naming pattern alongside other ette forms, giving its short shape a clear linguistic history rather than the feel of an invented blend.
