Journie

Journie is a modern spelling of Journey, the English word for travel or passage from one place to another. As a name, it can refer to a literal family journey or to the broader idea of a life unfolding. Those personal associations build on the ordinary word rather than changing its basic meaning.

The ie ending gives Journie the appearance of a familiar short form, but it need not be a nickname for a longer given name. Journey retains the standard English spelling, while Journee is another written alternative. A family choosing Journie can keep the same spoken word and meaning while selecting a different form for everyday use and official records.
