Juno

Juno is the name of a major Roman goddess associated with marriage and the protection of women. Alongside Jupiter and Minerva, she belonged to the Capitoline triad at the heart of Roman religious life. “Queen of the heavens” describes her position in mythology; the name’s actual derivation is uncertain, with a connection to youth among the proposed explanations.

The name appears in works ranging from Virgil’s Aeneid to Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and the film Juno supplies a more recent cultural association. Its four letters and final o distinguish it from June and Juniper. Those names offer similar sounds, but they should not simply be treated as alternate spellings of Juno.
