Justina

Justina is the feminine form of Justinus, an old Latin name derived from justus, meaning just or righteous. It belongs to the same family as Justin and Justine. The central meaning concerns fairness or justice, giving the name a direct Latin vocabulary behind its familiar shape.

The ending -ina is part of a long-established name formation, so Justina has its own history rather than being a recent feminine addition to English Justin. Justine is the French relative, and Giustina is the Italian form. These language variations can make it a useful family name across generations whose records use different spellings. Justina also shares the broad sound pattern of names such as Christina, but the resemblance does not give them the same root: its distinctive connection remains with the idea of justice.
