Kartier

Kartier is a modern spelling related to the French surname Cartier. That surname is occupational, traditionally referring to someone who drove or transported goods by cart. Its later association with the jewelry house gives the name a fashion connection, but the brand association is separate from the older surname meaning.

Replacing the initial C with K changes the appearance without creating a new etymology. Cartier is the conventional surname spelling, while Kartier may appeal to families who prefer the stronger visual K or want consistency with other family names. Pronunciation can vary between French and English use, especially at the ending. Parents choosing Kartier may want to be clear whether their personal connection is a surname, a sound, or the familiar design name.
