Kimora

Kimora is a modern given name whose exact derivation is uncertain. Model and designer Kimora Lee Simmons helped make it widely recognizable. A connection with the Japanese surname Kimura is sometimes proposed, but resemblance alone does not establish that every Kimora means “tree village.” It is better to keep the uncertainty than to attach an attractive translation without evidence.

The name combines the familiar opening Kim with a flowing ora ending, giving it a longer and more rounded sound than Kim on its own. Kim is available as a nickname, while the full name is distinctive enough to stand independently. Parents who like Kiara, Amora, or Kira may appreciate the sound, although those names have their own separate histories and should not be treated as variants.
