Kyndall

Kyndall is a spelling variation of Kendall, an English surname connected with Kendal in Cumbria. The place name refers to the valley of the River Kent, making the name’s background geographical. The river supplies the first part of the name, while the ending belongs to the old word for a valley. Kyndall preserves that inherited place-name connection through its relationship to Kendall.

The y gives Kyndall a different visual shape without creating a separate ancient meaning. As with many surnames adopted as first names, the appeal may be a family connection as much as the landscape behind it. Kendall is the useful comparison when exploring the name’s history, while Kyndall offers a distinct spelling within that established surname family.
