Kyomi

Kyomi is a modern spelling associated with Japanese Kiyomi. Japanese name meanings depend on the characters chosen, so pure and beautiful is one possible explanation of a particular form rather than a universal translation. The Latin-letter spelling alone cannot show the original writing or settle every pronunciation choice.

Kiyomi keeps an additional i that makes its written connection with Japanese naming clearer. Kyomi may be read differently by English speakers, so families can decide which sound they intend before settling on the spelling. If heritage is the main reason for choosing the name, keeping the Japanese characters alongside the romanized form provides a more complete account of its meaning.
