Leanna

Leanna is often understood as a combination of Lee and Anna, although some families may choose it through similar names such as Liana. Anna brings a connection with grace, while Lee has several possible histories. There is no sound basis for treating the complete name as a direct translation of “lion-man,” a meaning belonging to a different name family.

Lee and Anna each offer a natural short form, while Leeanna makes the two-name combination more explicit in writing. Leana is a more compact spelling comparison and may be pronounced differently by different families. Parents can decide whether honoring two relatives or simply liking Leanna’s three-syllable rhythm is the stronger reason for choosing it.
