Lenora

Lenora is a contracted form of Leonora, in the wider Eleanor name family. Its ultimate origin is uncertain, so the familiar meaning “light” should be treated as an association rather than an unquestioned translation. The name’s established family relationships provide a firmer story than attaching one decorative meaning to every form.

Leni keeps the opening, while Nora draws on the ending and can feel like a separate everyday name. Leonora gives a longer option, and Lenore has a more compact final sound. A family honoring an Eleanor or Leonora can use Lenora to preserve the connection while choosing a slightly shorter full name and several clear nickname possibilities.
