Levon

Levon is an Armenian form in the Leon name family, ultimately connected with the Greek word for lion. That gives it an animal meaning shared with several international relatives while preserving a distinctly Armenian form. Its ending changes the rhythm enough that it stands comfortably as a full name rather than sounding like a shortened version.

Music provides two recognizable associations: drummer Levon Helm and Elton John’s song Levon. Those references can make the name familiar to listeners who have not encountered its Armenian background. A family might choose it for heritage, a musical connection, or the lion meaning; those are separate layers of the name’s story, and none depends on a single famous bearer.
