Malka

Malka is a Hebrew name meaning “queen.” It has a history as both a given name and an affectionate form within Jewish communities. The royal meaning comes directly from the Hebrew word, rather than depending on a particular historical queen as the original namesake.

Malkah is another transliteration, while Malke reflects a related Yiddish form and Malkie can be used affectionately. Malka’s two syllables and firm consonants give it a different sound from longer royal names such as Regina. Families choosing it may value the clear meaning, an ancestor’s name, or the continuity of a community tradition. The complete name does not require a longer formal version.
