Nataly

Nataly is a spelling of Natalie, part of the name family derived from Latin natalis, relating to birth. Through the Christian expression for the Lord’s birthday, the family became associated with Christmas. That traditional connection does not mean a child must be born in December to receive the name or that the modern spelling changes its origin.

Nat and Tally offer possible short forms, while Natalie and Natalia provide close comparisons with different endings. Nataly usually shares Natalie’s English sound, so the distinction may need to be explained in writing. Parents choosing between them can consider family language and the visual form they prefer without assuming one spelling is more authentic for every household.
