Orli

Orli is a Hebrew name built around or, meaning light, with li meaning for me. It is often expressed in English as my light or light for me. That construction gives the name an intimate, personal meaning, making it especially appealing to families who want a light-related name whose wording feels like a direct expression of affection.

Orly is an alternative Roman-letter spelling of the same Hebrew name. Its resemblance to the French place and airport called Orly is a separate association, so the Hebrew meaning does not depend on France. Orli’s four letters and two clear syllables make it compact, but it is already a full given name rather than a required shortening of something longer. The final i keeps its Hebrew transliteration particularly visible.
