Rebekah

Rebekah is a biblical spelling of Rebecca, from Hebrew Rivqah. The name is traditionally connected with a root involving tying or binding, though its precise etymology is not entirely settled. In Genesis, Rebekah is the wife of Isaac and mother of Esau and Jacob, giving the name a specific scriptural history beyond its proposed word meaning.

Becca and Becky are familiar short forms that work with either English spelling. Rebekah makes the k and final h especially visible, while Rebecca is the other established form many listeners may expect. Rivka offers a closer Hebrew-language comparison for families who want to emphasize that tradition in the name’s everyday use.
