Reverie

Reverie is an English word borrowed from French, describing a state of daydreaming or absorbed, often pleasant thought. As a name, it draws on an inner experience rather than a place or physical object. Its meaning gives it a natural connection with imagination, while the French history explains the distinctive written ending.

The word also has an artistic feel because it can describe the reflective mood of music or writing. Used as a given name, Reverie makes that familiar literary vocabulary personal without needing an older namesake to explain it. Its three-syllable rhythm is longer than brief word names such as Dream or Joy, offering a different sound while keeping the central image of a daydream clear.
